Editing the Menu System

The Primary Menu system controls navigation throughout your website by taking you to the various pages of your site. It is usually found across the top of each page in the form of buttons that when clicked take you to the page identified by the individual button. The Primary Menu can also be configured to reside in either the left-hand or right-hand side bar of each of your website pages.

To access the Primary Menu, you must first login as website administrator. If there is no "Login" primary menu button on your site, you can login by typing http://yoursitename.com/user (subsituting your website's domain name for "yoursitename". Try it on this site by typing http://siteservants.com/user in your browser's address window at the top of the page. Doing so will bring up a login screen. If, for some reason you are already logged in, it will bring up your "My Account" page.

The Navigation Menu is found in the same spot as the Primary Menu and the Secondary Menu systems. Once there, you can add/modify links to the various pages of the Navigation Menu.

The Secondary Menu can be used anywhere on your site and in its default state, there are no menu links. You use the Secondary Menu if, and only if the Primary Menu and Navigation menu isn't enough.

After logging in as the website administrator, select "Administer" from the left-hand navigation menu.

Select the "Menus" option from the Administer Website Page.

This is the Primary Links Menu Page. From the tabs across the top, you can select "Add Item" to add an extra menu item. Then, you can drag it under the menu header items that you wish it to display from.
