Over the next 12 months, Siteservants will begin migrating customer's websites from the exising server to a more cost effective solution. The move is dictated by advances in technology and virtual space technology that have made it possible to serve multiple websites from a much more cost effective computer sollution.  These changes combined with enhanced backup technology, make for websites that can now run smoothly and uninterrupted indefinitely.

We will begin moving more static websites first followed by storefronts last.  The moves will happen late at night and the transition should seem seemless. There is minimal to no down-time anticipated and since the moves will happen late at night, you should'nt even notice the move has occurred.

Why Not Leave them Alone?

High end computer serving is overkill for our customer's needs and the expense associated with serving such websites from these servers far outweigh the practicality of continuing to do so.  We have taken the time however to test the new server solution with multiple websites - half of which are even database driven to validate the efficacy of this move and we are totally confident that the move is in the best intrerest of Siteservants and our customers.

In addition, Siteservants has also begun to sell Drupal based website solutions which run extremely well on the new servers.  Drupal contains a tremendous amount of functionality right out of the box and that functionality is constantly being added to by a community of open source programmers.
